1899 – 1941
Carola Lorenzini was the first female aviator to make a solo flight of the Rio de Plata. Before that she is said to have been the first female to drive a car through the city of San Vicente, and it seemed only a matter of time, and numerous applications, before she was finally accepted into Aero Club Argentino de Seis de septiembre. This venture would cost her all her savings and her beloved motorcycle, and in the end her life. She died in 1941 in a plane crash while training for an air-show at The Morón Aerodrome. One of her manoeuvres was an inside-out loop.
