1859 - 1934
Cecilia Grierson became the first female doctor of Argentina and she founded the first School of Nurses and The Argentine Society of First Aid. In 1899 she became a representative in the International Congress of Women. She pioneered in massage therapy and established The Institute of The Blind in Buenos Aires. Throughout her career she spoke out on behalf of women rights issues. Her medical merits speak for themselves but none so much as her work and dedication during the 1886 cholera epidemic in an isolation unit at the Hospital Muñiz.
